Sizing

Let’s dive into everything about ring sizings.

Have an engagement ring, wedding band, or a dearly loved ring that doesn't fit anymore? Our expert jewelers can determine your proper ring size and professionally size your ring to fit you perfectly. At Rick Terry Jewelry Designs we offer in-house sizing. Options for sizing are typically a stretch/shrink for plain gold and silver bands, cutting and welding, or sizing assistants such as sizing beads,

There is such a wide spectrum of designs, sizes, and complications that we do not have a standard sizing cost. We prefer to have the ring and the finger it should fit present in the store to give you an accurate estimated cost and time frame.

Wedding Bands:

Some bands might be stretched or compressed to the new size. To determine if your ring is a candidate for this process, we must know a few things. Is the ring Gold, Platinum, or Silver? Is the ring one single piece of metal? Does the ring have stones? If the ring is one solid unit with no previous breaks in the design, has no stones, it can possibly be sized through *annealing the band and then stretched or compressed to its new size.

Rings with stones:

The complications of sizing a ring with stones is based around the setting style used by the manufacturer. When changing the circumference of the shank we have to remain cautious of the stones setting angles. Sizing a ring smaller is particularly disruptive of the seat angles and prong angles. The designs and setting styles might limit the changes that the ring is capable of. Ultimately this will need to be determined by one of our employees.

Class Rings:

We do not offer sizing for class rings. Those rings must be sized at the manufacturer they were purchased from.
